How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Pick.Click.Give. donations help Sobermiut Reviving Our Spirit, Inc. sustain and expand culturally grounded prevention, recovery, wellness, and community programs for Alaska Native individuals and families in Anchorage. Our work is rooted in the belief that culture, identity, community connection, and traditional values can strengthen mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.

Sobermiut’s Community Prevention Plan, developed with support from the SAMHSA Tribal Training and Technical Assistance Center, focuses on building community capacity to address and prevent mental and substance use disorders and suicide while promoting mental health and cultural wellness. Our goals include strengthening community champions, increasing awareness of suicide and substance use prevention, supporting grief and healing, bringing community members together as change agents, and providing youth with culturally grounded approaches to healing.

Sobermiut works with community partners to provide cultural and educational teachings, including Talking Circles, Wellness Circles, cultural activities, prevention education, community gatherings, and youth engagement. Our relationship with Covenant House supports opportunities to share Alaska Native teachings and practices with young people from communities across Alaska. We are also working to preserve community knowledge and lived experience through digital storytelling and other intergenerational activities involving Elders, adults, youth, and families.

In 2026, Sobermiut brought Soberfest back to Anchorage as a free, family-friendly gathering centered on sobriety, recovery, cultural connection, youth and family engagement, and strengthening community. Events like Soberfest give people a positive place to gather, celebrate recovery, reconnect with culture, hear stories, share food, and build relationships.

Pick.Click.Give. support can help cover the practical costs of delivering this work, including program supplies, outreach, food, transportation, training, cultural activities, youth and Elder participation, storytelling projects, prevention activities, and community gatherings. Donations also help Sobermiut strengthen the organizational systems, partnerships, and infrastructure needed to sustain programs over time.

Every contribution helps Sobermiut create culturally grounded spaces where people can connect, heal, learn, celebrate sobriety, strengthen families, and build healthier communities for future generations.
