Southeast Alaska Independent Living "Inspires Personal Independence" for seniors and people with disabilities across Southeast.

About

Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL) inspires personal independence for seniors and people with disabilities throughout Southeast Alaska. Since 1992, SAIL has helped people live safely, actively, and independently in the communities they call home. Each year, thousands of Southeast Alaskans turn to SAIL for independent living support, accessibility resources, assistive technology, employment services, peer support, adaptive recreation, benefits counseling, and help transitioning home from institutional care. With offices serving 22 communities—from Yakutat to Metlakatla—SAIL reaches people across a vast and rural region where accessible services can be difficult to find. Our work is guided by people with disabilities and grounded in the belief that everyone deserves choice, dignity, inclusion, and the opportunity to direct their own life.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Your donation provides flexible, local support that allows SAIL to respond when someone needs help that may not be covered by insurance or another funding source. It can help provide essential medical equipment, home-safety modifications, assistive technology, transportation support, independent living skills training, peer support, employment services, and inclusive recreational opportunities.

Even a modest gift can make a meaningful difference. A $25 donation could help provide an adaptive tool, communication aid, magnifier, or other small item that makes daily life safer and easier. A $50 donation could help provide equipment such as a shower chair or grab bars. Larger gifts help SAIL maintain equipment loan closets, bring services to rural communities, and ensure that cost does not prevent someone from receiving support.

SAIL serves 22 communities across Southeast Alaska, including remote areas where accessible services and equipment can be difficult to find. Pick.Click.Give. donations help us reach people where they live and respond to needs throughout the region.

Every gift supports choice, dignity, connection, and independence. Together, Alaska donors help seniors and people with disabilities remain active in their families and communities—and continue directing their own lives.
