About
Kachemak Bay Broadcasting, Inc. provides news, information, and entertainment to foster community engagement. KBBI programming is brought to you by individuals who are members, local businesses and organizations. Don't Tell Me!" and locally produced shows like "Coffee Table" and local newscasts are made possible because of financial contributions from listeners who support KBBI. It keeps people engaged with their community and friends. You hear real voices and people from our communities as they host a variety of music shows. Our dedicated, hard-working news team is able to report live during emergencies. We are committed to you and our community, as we are community based and run. It’s an expected critical service that supports an entire infrastructure in various ways, even though it is not financially supported by city tax dollars.
You can tune in to KBBI from anywhere at any time via the live stream from our website. You can also stay connected with our active Facebook page and up to date website. You can even download our KBBI app on your iPhone or Android device!
To provide and expand our services, KBBI relies on the generosity of listeners like you. There are a many hefty "behind the scene" expenses at KBBI to bring you the programming you enjoy every day while serving over 20 communities. Help us keep up with ever necessary broadcast equipment upgrades including transmitter, microphones, field recorders and a new audio board.
With the loss of state funding for public broadcasting in 2019, and the loss of federal funding in 2025, Alaskans' financial support is extremely important for KBBI to continue providing our programming and services for you and thousands of listeners to enjoy. Strong local support translates into increased grant support as well. Local public radio would not be here without your support. Thank you!
