About
Congregation Or HaTzafon (Jewish Congregation of Fairbanks) is a Reform-affiliated Jewish congregation serving Fairbanks and communities throughout Interior Alaska. We are a welcoming community for Jews of all backgrounds, as well as for those who want to learn about and connect with Jewish life. We bring Jewish life to Interior Alaska through worship, holiday celebrations, Jewish education, cultural programs, community gatherings, and outreach. Our programs create opportunities for children, adults, families, visitors, students, and others to learn, celebrate, build friendships, and find a sense of belonging. Our congregation is also part of the broader Fairbanks community. Through cultural and educational programming, we share Jewish traditions, stories, history, and perspectives with our neighbors. We are the home organization of the Farthest North Jewish Film Festival, which brings Jewish films and culture from around the world to audiences throughout Fairbanks. As a small Jewish community in a remote part of Alaska, we are committed to ensuring that Jewish life remains vibrant, accessible, and welcoming. Whether gathering for Shabbat, celebrating a holiday, studying together, enjoying a film, supporting someone in need, or simply sharing a meal, Or HaTzafon provides a place for people to connect with Jewish life and with one another.
