Challenge Alaska improves the lives of people with disabilities through adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation and education.

About

Challenge Alaska provides life-changing adaptive recreation programs to over 1,000 Alaskans each year. Our four core program areas include: - ParaSport Programs: Serving individuals with physical and visual disabilities, offerings include sled hockey, goalball, rock climbing, cycling, wheelchair sports, adaptive yoga, and more. Programs are evolving regularly based on participant feedback. - Raven Programs: Designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, activities include summer adventure camps, overnight ski trips, fishing, hiking, movie nights, and more. - Warrior Programs: These serve veterans living with disabilities and feature biathlon, golf, paddling, cycling, sled hockey, and community events. Veterans may also join any of our other programs. - Adaptive Ski & Ride School: Based in Girdwood, this is Alaska’s only full-time adaptive ski school, delivering over 1,200 lessons each season to more than 600 participants with any type of disability, supported by 300+ trained volunteers.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

When Alaskans choose to support Challenge Alaska through Pick.Click.Give., they’re helping to build a more inclusive and empowering state-one where individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to thrive through movement, adventure, and community.

Every donation directly supports adaptive sports and therapeutic recreation programs across Alaska, serving more than 1,000 children, adults, and veterans each year. Our participants live with disabilities and Challenge Alaska is a place where they feel fully welcomed, supported, and encouraged to push past limitations.

Pick.Click.Give. donations help us provide:
- Specialized adaptive equipment like sit-skis, sports wheelchairs, and climbing harnesses
- Certified instructors and trained volunteers who ensure safety, dignity, and growth
- Scholarships and program subsidies so no one is turned away for financial reasons
- Community-based recreation and wellness programs that reduce isolation and increase independence

From learning to ski for the first time to scoring a goal in sled hockey, from rock climbing with a new friend to feeling the freedom of paddling across a lake, these experiences have lasting impact. They build confidence, improve physical and mental health, and open doors to inclusion that extend far beyond the activity itself.

Your Pick.Click.Give. donation makes stories like these possible. It ensures that every Alaskan, regardless of ability, has access to the joy, freedom, and healing that come from recreation and community connection. When you file for your PFD, you have the power to change someone’s life. Thank you for choosing to give.
