Central Area Rural Transit System, Inc. (CARTS) provides affordable, accessible public transportation throughout the Central Kenai Peninsula. Our on-demand, curb-to-curb service helps community members get where they need to go—whether that means getting to work, attending a medical appointment, shopping for groceries, going to school, or staying connected with family and community. For many of our riders, transportation is more than a convenience. It is the link between having an opportunity and being able to reach it. CARTS serves riders across a large rural area, including individuals with disabilities, older adults, workers, families, and others who may not have reliable access to a personal vehicle. Our ADA-accessible fleet helps ensure that mobility limitations do not have to mean isolation or lost independence. As a nonprofit public transportation provider, we work to keep fares affordable while maintaining dependable service across a geographically challenging service area. Our mission is simple: Independence within reach.
