About
The American Bald Eagle Foundation is an educational foundation dedicated to the protection and preservation of bald eagle habitat by sponsoring and facilitating research activities. With caring people, the research can be made available to everyone who wishes to live in greater harmony within the eagles' environment. The ABEF is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to share that knowledge.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Inspiring Conservation Through EducationIn Haines, Alaska—home to the world’s largest concentration of Bald Eagles—the American Bald Eagle Foundation connects people with the wildlife and natural wonders of the Chilkat Valley.
Our nonprofit Natural History Museum and Live Raptor Center uses education to inspire a lifelong commitment to wildlife conservation. Through live raptor presentations, eagle feedings, natural history exhibits, and engaging programs, children and adults discover the important roles Bald Eagles and other animals play in Alaska’s ecosystems.
Our resident raptors include Bald Eagles, a Western Siberian Eagle Owl, an American Kestrel, and an Eastern Screech Owl. Many came to us after suffering injuries that left them unable to survive in the wild. At the Foundation, these birds receive lifelong care and serve as educational ambassadors, helping thousands of people understand the challenges raptors face and why protecting their habitats matters.
Pick.Click.Give. donations help us:
* Provide food, veterinary care, rehabilitation support, enrichment, and safe housing for injured raptors.
* Expand educational programs for Alaska’s children, families, and communities.
* Improve exhibits highlighting the remarkable biodiversity of the Chilkat Valley.
* Teach visitors how they can help protect Bald Eagles, other wildlife, and the habitats we all share.
Every gift helps transform an injured bird’s story into a powerful educational experience. A child who sees an eagle up close may become an advocate for wildlife. A visitor who understands the delicate balance of the “Valley of Eagles” may be inspired to help protect it.
When you choose the American Bald Eagle Foundation through Pick.Click.Give., you support raptor care and rehabilitation—but you also make education, understanding, and future conservation possible.
