Alaska Huts is a small organization working to expand backcountry hut access in Alaska. We currently operate Manitoba Cabin + Yurts, located at Milepost 48 on the Seward Highway. Just a short 3/4 mile walk or ski from the road, Manitoba makes it possible for more people of all ages to experience Hut-based adventures in the backcountry year round, encouraging more people to become stewards of our public lands and wild spaces.

Your donation through Pick.Click.Give. allows us to work with other nonprofits and school groups to bring diverse groups to Manitoba for free or at a reduced rate. Your generosity creates positive outdoor experiences for youth growing up in Alaska that may not have opportunities to access the mountains.

In 2026, AK Huts opened a new location - the Lars Spurkland Memorial Hut at Spencer Glacier. Your support helps us maintain this new facility to the highest standard. Your contribution also supports the development of new Hut opportunities in the region.
