How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Pick.Click.Give donations help us show up every day for the communities we serve. These gifts ensure that families who need WIC don’t go without, that our sexual assault advocates are present at Sexual Assault Response Team call outs, and that individuals struggling with substance abuse challenges receive the treatment services they needed.

Here’s one example of how our ability to show up during the pandemic really made a difference: Sharon and her two young children first came to AFS in 2020 as clients in our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Emergency Shelter. Soon after moving into the shelter, Sharon’s caseworker referred her to AFS’ Child Care Assistance Program. Once on Child Care Assistance, Sharon secured a full-time job and the financial security to leave her abusive husband. In December, Sharon’s Child Care Assistance caseworker told her about AFS’ Special Santa Program which helped Sharon and her children celebrate a joyous first holiday season in their new home.
