Inspire lifetime learning and build community through play.
About
Inspired by childhood visits to the Imaginarium, the Alaska Children's Museum started in 2022 with a pop-up tent and a dream to bring a fully immersive children's museum experience back to Anchorage. A children’s museum is defined as a nonprofit educational and cultural institution committed to serving the needs and interests of children by providing exhibits and programs that stimulate curiosity, motivate learning, and support the wellbeing of children and families. Children’s museums are unique community institutions where children are valued citizens with the right to developmentally-appropriate and high-quality learning experiences; play is learning, and it is critical to the healthy social, emotional, and cognitive development of children; and family, culture, environment, and society are recognized as critical factors in all children’s lives.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
We currently operate as a mobile museum without walls; meaning that we bring children’s museum activities and exhibits out into the Anchorage and Mat-Su region, but our longterm goal is to open a physical children's museum space in Anchorage that families can visit any time. When you Pick.Click.Give to Alaska Children's Museum, you are supporting our day-to-day operations, expanding our program offerings, helping us purchase new exhibits for a broad range of ages and stages, and funding our first home.
