Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services, Inc., (AARS) located on Nugen's Ranch in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, was established in 1981 as a provider of long-term residential substance use disorder treatment services. These services are provided to Alaska’s most vulnerable adults from all regions of the State of Alaska. The agency is committed to providing quality services to clients, community outreach, and maintaining an integral relationship with other local agencies that offer adjunct services to this population.

One of the major social problems in Alaska is substance abuse; there are few options for adults that need a long-term residential substance abuse treatment program. Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services has provided this service to Alaskans since 1971, by uniquely combining substance abuse treatment with a working farm located on Nugen's Ranch. Numerous Alaskans have learned to live a clean and sober life with the assistance of AARS. Pick.Click.Give provides AARS with funding to assist with operating expenses (food, transportation, supplies, medications, etc.) and to continue our mission of providing quality residential substance abuse treatment services to Alaskans.
