AWARE provides safe shelter and supportive services for all who have been subjected to domestic or sexual violence. AWARE works to effect the social, political, and legal changes needed to eliminate oppression and gender based violence.

Pick.Click.Give. helps AWARE in many important ways. When we receive a pledge of support, it lifts the spirits of our team and the people who use our services. Your support shows that you care about survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and that you believe that violence can be prevented. It also means you stand behind our prevention programming and our efforts to help people in the community learn healthier ways to relate to others (through our Juneau Choice & Accountability Program and our Healthy Relationships Class).Pick.Click.Give. donations are put into AWARE’s general fund, which supports all aspects of our work, including emergency services, Kaasei, our Supportive Transitional Housing facility, and Cordova Street apartments, our newer permanent housing.
In 2018, AWARE became the first and only gender-inclusive shelter in Alaska.
