Who we Are: See Stories is an Alaskan 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to building inclusive communities through the power of film and storytelling. Our mission is rooted in the belief that diverse Alaskans, especially youth, are best equipped to craft stories & films that authentically reflect the rich tapestry of life in this unique place. These films and stories become teaching tools in classrooms and communities throughout Alaska. Empowering Future Storytellers: At See Stories, we understand that storytelling is a powerful tool for self-expression, community engagement, and personal growth. We are committed to nurturing the next generation of storytellers by leading documentary film and podcast workshops for teens. Through hands-on learning experiences, we provide young Alaskans with the skills and confidence they need to create compelling narratives that reflect their unique perspectives. We believe that when youth are given the means to tell their own stories, they become active agents of change, helping to shape the narrative of Alaska. Equipping Educators for Impact: To expand our reach and impact, See Stories empowers educators to lead multimedia projects in their classrooms. We recognize the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the minds of our future leaders. By providing educators with the tools and knowledge to incorporate media production into their curriculum, we foster creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills in students.
