Running Free Alaska (RFA) is a non-profit organization that provides a structured running program offers long-term running-related support for incarcerated women. We believe running helps people live their best lives. By creating supportive environments for women who are incarcerated we stand as a bridge to an interconnected community not defined by labels and stigmas. Our structured running program can offer women a meaningful outlet for connection, resilience, and wellness, helping to build a sense of community, strengthen identity, and support recovery through shared movement and goal-setting.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
One of our upcoming projects is opening a transitional house for women who have participated in Running Free Alaska during their incarceration and are now being released. This transition house will fill a critical gap in the re-entry services available to women coming out of prison in Alaska. With comprehensive services aimed at housing, personal development, physical fitness, and job readiness. RFA is almost entirely funded by private donations. Pick.Click.Give provides our small non-profit a state-wide platform to raise funds and awareness.
