About
We are a mid-council of the Presbyterian Church (USA) consisting of twenty churches across Southcentral, Interior, and Northwest Alaska, and the North Slope. We worship in four languages - Korean, Iñupiaq, Siberian Yup'ik, and English. Our ministries are as diverse as our communities and reach well beyond the four walls of the sanctuary: homeless outreach and support, hosting and supporting food pantries, advocacy for the poor and vulnerable, indigenous language preservation, supporting neighborhood and community schools, housing teachers and those in need of emergency housing, and hosting community groups from elder feeding programs to cultural programs like drum circles to recovery groups. We have a long if complex history in Alaska, and we acknowledge both the holy and the tragic of it. You will always find welcome and safety with us whether you are looking for a new church home or just want to sit in the back and see what we're about.

Like all of us, our churches and communities are feeling the brunt of inflation, tariffs, and other economic headwinds. Older buildings come in need of repairs when materials have jumped in price and skilled labor can be difficult or nearly impossible to find. Transportation costs can make flying to and from our more remote villages like Gambell and Kaktovik cost more than round-trip airfare from Anchorage to Costa Rica and Japan.
