About
Your 'Pick, Click, Give' donation is an important revenue source for our Trails Program. The Trails Program builds, maintains, and grooms the ski trails at FNSB Birch Hill. There are over 23-miles of trails and six months of skiing. Trail use is 'free' a commitment by the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks for the enhancement of life in Alaska's Interior.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Birch Hill cross country ski trails are a cornerstone of winter life in Interior Alaska. With warm changing areas, bathrooms, and group indoor areas, the inviting FNSB facility begs for visitors to enjoy countless afternoons cross country skiing across our 23-miles of trails. Throughout the winter day, you can see groups of tourists, retired groups of friends, high school skiers, and hundreds of young skiers, many from home school programs. The facility is well used with reported FNSB numbers well over 200,000 annually (report attached).
For nearly sixty years, NSCF has built, maintained, and groomed the FNSB trails at Birch Hill. Groomed trails allow for family excursions, workouts, and racing at local, state, and national levels. Our organization has served the community with care and commitment. Our longevity is a testament to our thoughtful stewardship and our ability to meet the changing needs of Fairbanks residents.
NSCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, tasked since 1968 with grooming world-class trails at Birch Hill, located at 101 Wilderness Drive. Per our agreement with the FNSB, we provide these services at no cost to residents, visitors, and military families. Just ten minutes from downtown, Birch Hill offers accessible, high-quality cross-country skiing for all.
