We feed people because no one deserves to be hungry.
About
As a nonprofit agency the receives no government funding, we rely on the generosity of donors to distribute food to hungry neighbors throughout the entire Kenai Peninsula both on site and through a network of food pantries and partner agencies. Lunch is served every weekday at no cost in our Fireweed Diner, available to everyone. Food Distribution is every weekday and we also have a new Mobile Food Pantry program that services areas around the Central Peninsula.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Your Pick.Click.Give. donations help to keep our trucks on the road, picking up and delivering food: to keep the freezers and refrigerators running, keeping food fresh: to keep the heat and electricity on. The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank strives to feed the hungry and educate the community about food insecurity and nutrition. The facility houses a warehouse to distribute, store and preserve food: a diner that offers daily meals and a volunteer-run, large garden with high tunnel providing garden fresh food to the diner and consumers. The Food Bank distributes two USDA commodity programs; one for Senior Citizens and the other is income based for families. Direct service food is provided by the Food Bank, with no income guidelines, if people are hungry, we feed them. Often free food makes it possible for people to pay for their heat, utilities, fuel or medicine.
Thank you for helping to feed our hungry Kenai Peninsula neighbors, you truly make a difference in many lives.
