About
The purpose of the Friends of the Haines Borough Public Library is to maintain an association of persons interested in libraries; to focus public attention on library services, facilities and needs; to stimulate use of library resources and services; to receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests to the library; to support and cooperate with the library through volunteer efforts i; and to support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.

The Friends of the Library connects volunteers and donors with library programs that make our community a great place to live! Donors make it possible to support a lively Summer Reading Program for school-aged children, enhance internet access at the library, and bring new resources into the community like Mango online language courses and ListenAlaska- the free audio and ebook service for library cardholders. Your donation will directly support great library programs. You may also designate your gift to the Friends of the Library's Legacy Fund- a long-term fund to support library services. In the Legacy Fund, your gift will continue to grow over time, while a portion of dividends are used for library programs.
