About
Companions, Inc. has been providing pet therapy support to many places in Fairbanks for almost 40 years. Some of the places you'll find us are Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Denali Center, the Fairbanks Pioneer Home, the Fairbanks Resource Agency, the Fairbanks Senior Center, the University of Alaska Library during finals weeks, UAF Vet School, UAF Student Success Center, North Pole Library, at various Health Fairs in town, and more. Companions, Inc. is a 100% volunteer organization. We have no paid staff but rely on an energetic, committed group of over 50 volunteers to keep the program running smoothly. How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
We have an annual fundraiser in May of each year called Pet Awareness Day. We rely on donations to pay most of our expenses which include t-shirts for volunteers, scarves and leashes for dogs, vet checks for dogs, insurance for all of our activities, storage facilities, our web site and software help.
