How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula began in 1988, serving a small group of youth who needed a safe, positive place to spend their time after school. What started as a simple effort to support local kids has grown into a vibrant network of programs across the Kenai Peninsula.

Today, BGCKP operates five Club locations, including two dedicated Teen Centers, providing afterschool and summer academic enrichment programs for youth ages 6–18. In addition, we offer year-round athletic programs that are open to all youth, regardless of skill level or ability, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and stay active.

Our organization now serves more than 2,000 registered members, with over 350 youth walking through our doors each day to participate in programs that support their academic success, personal growth, and healthy lifestyles.

All Boys & Girls Club programs are guided by the Five Key Elements of Positive Youth Development. These elements ensure every young person who enters our doors experiences:

A Safe, Positive Environment that supports physical and emotional well-being

Fun, which remains the essential ingredient in everything we do

Supportive Relationships with caring staff who build meaningful connections with youth

Opportunities and Expectations that encourage responsibility, achievement, and ethical behavior

Recognition that celebrates each child’s accomplishments and contributions

Our programs focus on five core areas that help young people build the skills they need for the future: Education & Career Exploration, Character & Leadership Development, Health & Life Skills, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and the Arts.

Just as important, we make sure kids are fed. Every day our Clubs provide free, nutritious meals and snacks so that no child leaves hungry. We also offer scholarships and financial assistance to ensure that every family—regardless of income—can access our programs.

Boys & Girls Clubs fill a vital role in our communities, providing safe places, supportive mentors, and life-changing opportunities for youth.
