How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
More than 65,000 military members and their families are stationed in Alaska, and the ASYMCA is committed to enhancing their lives in spirit, mind, and body through programs relevant to the unique challenges of military life. With the help of donors like you, the ASYMCA is doing just that.
While ASYMCA of Alaska offices are located on JBER, Ft. Wainwright, and Eielson Air Force Base, its programs reach statewide. All ASYMCA programs are no-cost or low-cost thanks to the generous donors. Here are just a few ways your gift makes a difference to our Alaska military community.
1) With three locations, ASYMCA Marketplaces help military families keep bellies full and households running smoothly with no-cost groceries (including meat, eggs, and milk) and basic household necessities (detergent, diapers, etc.).
2) ASYMCA Early Learning Centers help military kids build strong foundations that prepare them for Kindergarten and beyond.
3) Every year, the ASYMCA Combat Fishing Tournament brings nearly 200 junior enlisted service members from across the state to Seward for a day of deep-sea fishing.
4) ASYMCA's Kid Comfort Quilt program makes deployments easier by providing custom quilts and pillowcases to military children. Quilts feature photos of the deployed parent and are sewn by volunteers.
5) The ASYMCA Winter Gear Up program helps Alaska military families prepare for the cold and snow by providing boots, hats, coats, and more at no cost.
In addition to the programs listed above, we offer travel assistance during the holiday season, holiday meals, summer camps for military kids, programs specifically for military spouses, emergency assistance and more.
Donors like YOU make our work possible! Thank you for considering a gift to the ASYMCA of Alaska.
