Rooted in Christ. Anchored in Excellence. Growing in Grace: Anchor Lutheran School (Anchor), a ministry of the Lutheran School Association of Anchorage, is a Christ-centered, independent school serving infants through Grade 12. Located in the heart of Anchorage, Alaska, Anchor has been a vital part of the community for over 45 years—partnering with families to provide an academically rigorous, spiritually grounded, and community-focused education. Our school exists to support families in raising children who know the love of Jesus, pursue academic excellence, and grow into compassionate, confident leaders prepared to serve and thrive in a complex world. Anchor serves more than 300 students and their families each year through a continuum of educational and care programs, including: Early Childhood Education (Infants, age 2, through Transistional-Kindergarten) Lower School (Kindergarten through Grade 5) Upper School (Grades 6–12, launched in 2022) Before & After School Care (Child Watch) Summer Enrichment Camps and Special Programs Our students come from a variety of cultural, denominational, and socio-economic backgrounds. Approximately 15% of our student body identifies as Alaska Native, and most of our families are not affiliated with a Lutheran church. We celebrate this diversity as a strength and a gift.
