How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Alaska Huts is a small organization working to expand backcountry hut access in Southcentral Alaska. We currently operate Manitoba Cabin & Yurts, located at Milepost 48 on the Seward Highway. Just a short 3/4 mile walk or ski from the road, Manitoba makes it possible for more people of all ages to experience Hut-based adventures in the backcountry year round, encouraging more people to become stewards of our public lands and wild spaces.

Your donation through Pick.Click.Give. allows us to work with other local nonprofits and school groups to bring diverse groups to Manitoba for free or at a reduced rate. Your generosity creates positive outdoor experiences for youth growing up in Alaska that may not have opportunities to access the mountains.

Your Pick.Click.Give. donation also supports development of the Glacier Discovery Project, a three hut-to-hut system in the Chugach National Forest, starting with a Hut at Spencer Glacier. Alaska Huts hopes to break ground on the first Hut at Spencer Glacier, dubbed the Lars Spurkland Memorial Hut, as early as 2023. Your donation supports development of the further two huts in the system and connecting trails.
